Vytlacil Artist-in-Residence Program
·       Need a place to work after graduation?
·       Need to expand your studio space for a big project?
·       Want to get out of the City – and work on your art – at the same time?
·       (Need to get back IN to the City from time to time?)
·       Merit Scholarships are available.

Located just south of picturesque Nyack, New York, the Vytlacil Artist-in-Residence Program provides support to working artists in a spacious, pastoral setting only 20 miles north of Manhattan. Enabling artists to focus on creating artwork for an extended period of time (one to two months), the residency offers living and studio space, equipment, accessible proximity to New York City, and one-on-one mentoring and critiques in a wooded setting. See more at: www.facebook.com/VytAIR

Artists are given individual space to freely focus on their craft, as well as ample opportunity to engage with the supportive community of artists that embodies the spirit of Vyt AIR. At the end of their residency, artists may participate in “Open Studio” sessions, a chance to share their work with the public and Art Students League’s extensive community.  Click here for application information.

The residency includes:
·       a single bedroom for four- or eight-week residencies with a communal catered lunch provided weekly
·       24/7 access to private and shared studio space
·       use of specialized equipment for people working in mediums needing a bronze furnace, kiln, forging, and welding studio
·       access to our facilities including an extensive art library, Wi-Fi internet
·       mentoring & critiques by professional, working artists-instructors from the Art Students League of New York
·       "Vyt Van" and public transportation access to NYC cultural institutions and networking opportunities
·       Eligibility: Professional, emerging, and teaching artists over the age of 18 are encouraged to apply, especially Academy students and alumni!

Transportation to Vytlacil Campus is not included. Art supplies are not covered as part of the residency.  For more information contact us at (845) 359-1263 or by email at residency@artstudentsleague.org.
